Our Vision — A Word of Welcome

We have been a new Christian church in a beautiful area. We experienced our true congregational beginnings in 2003 within Oconomowoc – in a house – while we determined to “look westward” with faith toward the largely undeveloped stretch on the highway toward Madison. There are splendid rural communities here with a stable, historical presence and hardworking values. Even so, the remainder of the Milwaukee-Madison corridor on I-94 likely will continue to develop.

That probably means future change, in the plural sense. So we want to be poised to raise up earnest Christian laborers, sending forth available workers and founding strong family churches, to keep establishing a hearty gospel presence to meet the future.

I have a burden to see a resurgence of biblical Christianity grip the Church once again, and I get to wake up in the mornings and happily go to task so that may apply within southern Wisconsin.

We want to be a church where people do recapture a weightier sense of God for their lives. We want to be a church where God’s people are encouraged to come back to their Bibles with all their hearts. We want to be a church where people who may be weighed down, perhaps very fractured, by the stresses produced in this world can get authentic help from God through His people – who believe upon the Word and point to it. We want to be a church where the leaders are tender and vulnerable, honest and dependable, strong in character yet contrite of heart. We want to be a humble church, a family church, a glad and joyful church, a missions church, a gospel-sharing church unashamed of the glorious “evangel” of Jesus Christ.

Look around and you will see normal people, not celebrities, not big shots, not pompous superstars. Many of us have been once pummeled by crisis or especially tough times. We remember. Some of us do not need to remember because we are right there right now!

So, at Summit Harvest Church, we do not look down our noses upon one another. There is acceptance here, and we preach a powerful gospel of spiritual reconciliation with God. “If God is for us (you), who can be against us!” trumpets the New Testament.

The center point and fulfillment of that gospel is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. His glory one day will fill all the nations. We preach Jesus. Through His blood shed from the cross, you who believe Him truly, trusting in His name, have forgiveness of all your sins and awesome benefit privileges under the covenant (“New Testament”) which He established by His death and resurrection.

Welcome to our family. May you find the reality of Jesus Christ here at Summit Harvest Church. We invite one and all to join us in making the nations glad with the tidings of God’s message. Let us find gladness in Him first. Then join Him in the venture of the ages!
