About Our Name

Summit – means the high point, the zenith, the pinnacle or peak; but is also the name of this area, the name of the main thoroughfare into Oconomowoc proper and the name of the elementary school where we shared our beginnings.

Harvest – a great harvest of all peoples is what our Lord has revealed for the final days. Let us lift up our eyes and see that His fields are white for harvest. And may we enter the fields as courageous and joyful laborers.

Church – we unabashedly prefer “church” over “fellowship” or even the more contemporary “center” as we try to underscore one very important point: we see ourselves as a covenantal people trying to live out our faith in community with one another during a time when community in America is suffering unprecedented breakdown.

Summit Harvest Church is an independent, non-denominational church seeking to exalt the Name of Jesus Christ and glorify God, abiding by the Scriptures. We joyfully respect, honor, and value other Bible-believing churches of this area wherever the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and the Bible taught.
