Our Vision — Biblical Counseling Ministries

 
   

The National Association of Nouthetic Counselors is a fellowship of Christian pastors and laymen who have banded together to promote excellence in biblical counseling. NANC was founded in 1975 in service to Christ to address several needs in the biblical counseling community. NANC is first and foremost a certifying organization. The certifying process is rigorous but attainable by even the busiest pastor.

 		  

The Institute for Nouthetic Studies exists to train counselors to effectively minister the Word of God in the counseling room. We do so by providing a comprehensive curriculum which can be studied by extension-without traveling to a campus. All courses are presented on DVD which the student studies at his own pace in his own home. INS features the teaching ministry of Dr. Jay E Adams, the pioneer and leading authority on truly biblical counseling.                   The Association of Biblical Counselors is a ministry that is dedicated to equipping, empowering, and encouraging all believers, everywhere to live and counsel the Word.  We are also committed to facilitating a deeper understanding of biblical counseling as well as identifying ideas, presuppositions, methods, and principles that have been adopted by the Christian community which merit further inquiry and debate with regards to biblical compatibility.                                                                                      
 

  Counseling God's Way is as different from psychological counseling as light is from darkness. You see, genuine Biblical counseling doesn't merely sprinkle a few Bible verses here and there to make the counseling appear Bible-centered. In contrast to psychologically-integrated systems, Biblical counseling seeks to carefully discover those areas in which a Christian may be disobedient to the principles and commands of Scripture and to help him learn how to lovingly submit to God's will.

We accomplish this in a three fold way through Counseling Training, Counseling Resources and Counseling Services.
