Our Vision — What to Expect

                                                               During a Typical Service

Our services typically last around 1 1/2 hours and possibly just a bit longer. So, right off the bat, we acknowledge we are not your standard “regular” church from suburbia. At the commencement of every service there is a special Call to Worship performed by the people of the congregation holding the Book of Psalms in their hands and praising freestyle with Scripture. This is usually followed by collective worship through music, singing, and prayers. Next, we typically observe a Celebration of the Lord's Table (or, Communion), which we conduct weekly. This is always an opportunity for individuals to reflect upon the supremacy of Jesus Christ for their lives and on the joy of the New Covenant (“New Testament”) Christ established with all His followers. Following this, one of saints will deliver a message from the Bible for 30 minutes.

                                                                        Our Setting
We have been a church plant in development. That means, for one, we currently lease our facilities. The Town of Concord graciously assists us in leasing the use of the entire former Concord School. Our sanctuary is the old gymnasium. We occasionally utilize the classrooms for the care and instruction of our children. When you visit us, we occupy the entire building, while worshiping in the larger part of the gym. After hours, we promptly store our church belongings until the following Sunday. These are happy days that remind us constantly that God’s Church is not buildings, bricks, and bucks, but people in love with Christ our Savior.

                                                                    Getting Acquainted
When you visit, please stop by our Welcome Tables just inside the front doors. They will be manned by our friendly Summit Harvest people and will kindly help you with any questions you may have or needs to be tended. This area is also a great resource table for you to peruse and purchase anything that may be helpful to you which we offer.

                                                                     Balance and Blend
Summit Harvest worship services are by intention a blend of casual and formal, contemporary and traditional. You will notice a musical ensemble up front, on the floor and not on the stage. On purpose, the worship team does not occupy the stage of the gym floor. It is a small way of saying we are not here for performance or impressionability but for mutuality of worship as a family of God. We are contemporary but simple. We find the reckless jettisoning of Christian tradition to be unwise and unnecessary. We use paper handouts for our worship music and not the heavy visualization ideas from our very hi-tech, hyper visual age.

                                                                Caring For Your Children
We want your children to grow up having very precious memories of past Sunday worship in church. That means we highly encourage your children to learn how to “do” church alongside the older members of your family. We certainly do provide nursery care for parents with children in the youngest stages.

                                                                            Parking
This is an easy issue. We are located in a former school, now serving Concord as a Community Center. Parking is plentiful, and if you are visiting us, please use the U-shaped front drive right in front of our doors.

                                                                       Special Needs
We try to be especially sensitive to individual's dietary restrictions concerning the availability of food and snacks you will see during our friendship time after every service. If you or your child has nutrition concerns which we should know about, please alert us to this fact. We want to tend to your needs, and we would like all to feel welcome as we share fellowship together.
