  The Preaching Bible in Summit Harvest Church is the English Standard Version. If you are on the scout for a new Bible, please consider this new but highly commendable English version of the Scriptures. The ESV is an “essentially literal” translation which seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text plus the personal style of each Bible writer. As such, its emphasis is on “word-for-word” correspondence, at the same time taking into account differences of grammar, syntax, and idiom between current literary English and the original languages. The ESV seeks to be transparent to the original text, letting the reader see as directly as possible the structure and meaning of the original. It is superior to the popular NIV version which dominates the market. We suggest this, though in the spirit of: “whichever version you read, please do read it!”
