SEVEN BIBLICAL ELEMENTS
of our Spiritual Dynamic at Summit Harvest Church

A Passion for God in Christ

We envision a church known for holy and loving passion – a great passion for the supremacy of God in Christ which results in a passion for the Bible, a passion for people, a passion for worship, a passion for outreach, and a passion for its community.

(Jn 1:1,14; Col 1:15; Heb 1:3; Rev 5:12,13; Rev 7:12; Rev 21:26)

The Scriptures

We envision a church that places a devoted emphasis upon the Bible. It works hard to help individuals and families develop a more biblical world-view. We want to become a people who come to know the Bible, talk the Bible, and live by the Bible. And we work hard to offer biblical help to people whose lives may be fractured by the stresses of our world.

(Josh 1:8; Psa 119:9,11, 105; Mt 4:4; 2 Tim 3:16; Col 3:16; Eph 6:17)

Outreach

We envision a church that strives to be reaching out to the community with the love of Jesus Christ. This means there is developing an evangelistic, missionary spirit in the hearts, practices, and lifestyles of the people. If programs for outreach develop among us, we still mean to say that the true, ultimate hallmark of an evangelistic church is the natural evangelism which takes place beyond church programs; that is, within individual’s normal contexts.

(Mk 16: 15-20; Acts 14:7; Rom 11:14; 1 Cor 1:17; 1 Cor 9:16; 2 Cor 10:16)

Discipleship

We envision a church that has a personal discipleship mentality both in the home and beyond the home. We envision a church which trains its people how to minister, admonish, motivate, help, counsel, and edify individuals with a view toward seeing their fruitfulness in God and their success in living for Him.

(Mt 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8; 2 Tim 2:2; 1 Thess 5:14; 1 Tim 4:13; 2 Tim 4:2)

Prayer

We envision a church that comes to excel in prayer, developing a true spirit of intercession. This may be rare today, but we believe it is right. And we believe this is the will of God for His people. The Prayer meeting of the congregation is a high-level priority in our church.

(Mt 6:5-13; Mt 21:21; Mk 11:17; Mk 11:24; Acts 1:14; Eph 6:18; 1 Thess 5:17; 1 Tim 2:8)

Servant Leadership

We envision a church where the governing and ministerial leadership embraces a servant-leadership paradigm, a church where its leadership personnel are sensitive people-shepherds, not corporate board execs, loving overseers who biblically advise and help the flock and respond in times of need. We believe governance by a plurality of elders, who work in constant interaction and relationship with the body, is the model which best approximates the spirit and intent of New Testament community, in which a final court of appeals is the whole congregation itself – elders and congregational members working together -all looking to the Head, Who is Jesus Christ.

(Mk 10:43; Mk 10:45; Lk 17:10; Jn 13:16; 1 Tim 4:6; 2 Tim 2:24)

Mission

We envision a church that has a significant part to play in the world, while it also proves faithful on local levels. God calls us to be extensive witnesses in our Jerusalem, and in all our Judea’s and Samaria’s, and to the ends of the earth.

(Mt 28:19, 20; Mk 16:15-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor 10:16; 2 Tim 2:2)
